According to local sources our radio station, KFOK, is now reaching a wider audience across the Georgetown Divide. Last Friday, February 26th, a new “exciter” was installed at the station and reports of better reception were heard almost immediately.
Apparently the old “exciter” was gradually losing strength and the station’s listening area was shrinking as a result. The new exciter is now undergoing a “break-in” period, and we can enjoy KFOK in areas where reception before was impossible. KFOK has been heard in cars as far away from Georgetown as Divide Supply in Greenwood and even at locations as far away as Cool.
Look for even more signal gain coming later this year, as KFOK’s new antenna should be online before this summer. If you haven’t been able to get KFOK in the past, tune your FM radio to 95.1. You may be pleasantly surprised!
